Is God Listening? -Week 13

Harmony and Happiness

As we create the mental picture of our ideal, what we are finding is that Emerson’s Law of Compensation is again reminding us that we get what we give.  Our relationship to the Universal (God) is highly dependent on our acceptance of the fact that he is the source of all comfort and luxuries to which we are entitled.  Give thanks and believe that if you desire them and thoughtfully construct them in your mind, as part of the relationship you have with Him and He has with others, it will come together.  Not necessarily the in between part, but the end in mind part.

It’s really interesting to me to see how so many people have put together their perspective on how this all works.  I just alluded to Steven Covey and the “begin with the end in mind” approach that he has.  The Earl Nightingale audio that we listened to this week, The Strangest Secret, is probably the original network marketing mantra from Dexter Yaeger’s  “You gotta have a Dream” to Tony Robbins: “The first thing these people have who succeed, who are fulfilled, is that they’ve decided what the purpose of the game is, at least for right now.”

Before you Dream

Connect with your God, first.  Whether you call Him God, or the Universal, or Whatever, know that this Universal Substance is Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and Omniscient.  It Is.  Period.  Causes will be set in motion in ways we do not understand, but if the ideal is worthy the thing will proceed along His path.

So then we must get the Dream more specific in our minds.  Not the stone Buddha, but the gold Buddha.  That’s the one we connect to the Universal. We aren’t so presumptuous to try and tell God what to do.  Believe it.  He knows.  We must become a Channel of His Peace. Begin each day with love in your heart.  Then along with your POA a PMA, and belief in the definite accurate cause, you shall achieve the end point.  In fact, as we learned in week 11 from a biblical quotation from Mark 11:24, “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

I was born in the same hospital I trained in almost 65 years ago. Family came from good old Germanic stock matched with my Irish mother's value added good cooking and discipline. I had four brothers and I was the oldest. Education was with the Notre Dame nuns, the Jesuit priests, and then the Holy Cross fathers at Notre Dame. I completed my medical school back in Milwaukee and actually trained in the same hospital I was born in. My best thing that ever happened to me was meeting and then marrying my Kathy, a patient and loving gal who has given me three great sons and a lot of her patience. The story is longer, but for now check out donketterhagen.com for more specifics. We spend our days building a Lyoness shopping network and living in the mountains of North Carolina in the summer and Estero, Florida over the winter. Life is good.

  1. Good post Don. I liked this:
Connect with your God, first. Whether you call Him God, or the Universal, or Whatever, know that this Universal Substance is Omnipresent, Omnipotent, and Omniscient. It Is. Period. Causes will be set in motion in ways we do not understand, but if the ideal is worthy the thing will proceed along His path.

It keeps coming back to this doesn’t it:
Mark 11:24, “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

  2. It does keep coming back to this doesn’t it?:
Mark 11:24, “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
    It is an Immutable Law…

  3. Yes! Connect with your God, your Universal, your “all-being” and fully believe that He will reciprocate all that you give. You’ve nailed it Don! Great job! When dreaming a dream, believe in Him. He will give you exactly what you give. Keep giving, keep getting. Don’t expect it to happen at a certain time, just BELIEVE that it will happen and He won’t let you down. I love it!
